去年年初某一個白天分手，晚上回到家，家人被欺負，心裡面情緒壓力好大好大，打電話給多年好友泣不成聲，她安慰著我，說帶我去教堂。或許那時候覺得沒有甚麼拒絕的理由，所以感恩節、母親節、每周主日，也就跟著去。
那時候牧師幫我禱告，請 上帝給我力量讓我走出情傷；好友幫我禱告，請 上帝指引我愛的人一個光明的方向，走出心靈的陰暗，我自己向 上帝禱告，請求祂給我愛的人可以變得更好。唱福音，其實歌詞也就一直重複，但內心會變得很平靜；聽牧師佈道時，雖然有些觀點不見得完全認同，但我學習怎麼包容其他人的看法。
兩個月過去，我遇到他，他鼓勵我去追求自己的夢想，去探索未知的自己。我當時不知道出去唸書是不是件我該去做的事，因為我要改變很多事情，放棄很多事情。當我還在猶豫的時候，他在西雅圖出差，他問我還好嗎?我說我要去教堂，跟上帝聊聊，請祂給我改變的力量。他說，
我願成就你那股改變的力量。準備閉關開始唸書之前，教友姐姐還特地來跟我聚餐，一起為我禱告，希望我可以健康順利地申請到學校。
人總是有求的時候，才會開始尋求宗教的力量，颱風天其實我都待在家邊喝酒邊哭。哭累了就睡著，睡醒了繼續哭。上班要去洗手間擦好幾次眼淚，回到坐位講沒幾句話又得離開座位去平復心情。當我在洗手間哭完後，我想到我的好友，我跟她說，我需要內心的平靜。
她說她好驚訝又開心，因為她和上帝禱告如何再關心我，而我就出現了。
我知道我們向上帝的禱告，其實都是我們自己給予的力量和意念。
